Today our main goal with Reija was to get some product photography done, but on the side I wanted to rehearse my dog photographing skills. I asked my friend Anu to join us in Korso.
The weather broadcast promised sunny or a bit cloudy weather, but yet again it failed us and we found ourselves in a thick snowfall. Fortunately we didn’t give up and we got some really nice shots of Reija, Kuksi, Megi and Anu. And I also got a clue how I want to arrange lightning while stacking the dogs.
Thanks Reija and Anu, it was really fun! And Megi was awesome – I really started to miss my little miss sunshine, Piri, while looking at her doing her goofy things <3. Check All photos here.
Facebook is full of challenges, and most of them I pass, but this one was pretty interesting. Ilkka challenged me to post 5 black and white images and I took it. I really don’t take images in black and white, but it’s still interesting to see how they work converted. And some of them do really look pretty interesting and nice.
First one was from the 2012 Finnish German Shepherd IPO-championships. This dog is doing his obedience work and retrieving the dumbbell. For some reason this b&w-test left me a perverted urge to convert more of these images into black and white instead of colour, even though the colours in this set was pretty nice looking.
Twigs’n’trees. Third one was also from my parents’ backyard. I was a bit bored and walked around their yard with a camera and a cup of coffee. These trees are 30+ year old apple trees, which produce more than enough apples every autumn.
Fourth one is combined panorama from six images. We went to a park across Manhattan during the night (February 2014). The place wasn’t ..uhm.. really designed for nightly visitors, so we had to be relatively quick ;). This one you should click and look more closely, there are some nice details on it.
Supper. The fifth was also from February 2014, this time the location was New Orleans and the store was Mardi Gras Zone in Bywater. Interesting shop – upstairs it had a lot of mardi gras -related stuff, and downstairs there was a great pizzeria and a supermarket with all kinds of foods (even healthy ones). This was from the first night of our stay, after we enjoyed Krewe of Chewbacchus’ parade. Timo is trying to find something more to eat, or some coffee. Then again, coffee is essential for survival for a Finn. I like the “Walking dead” -vibe this image got when converted to black and white.
Oh and the featured-image on top? It’s an added bonus from the same night in New Orleans as the last one. Dude driving through a street party after the parade.
