After having a eventful geocaching experience near Keimola, we headed out to Petikko and photograph some dogs. Well I did, the guys went to a nearby doctors to show stnz swollen ankle. Nothing bad, thank god.
The new flash and portable softbox are really nice. Girls asked me why in the hell I use flash when it’s sunny – I’ll just answer “because the sun as a light source is so seen and yesterday”.
And Onni’s brother Veeti, handsome as ever:
You can find the galleries of them in the Dogs -gallery.
I’ve been back in Iceland since the 11th, and yesterday I got to check out two things of my list what to see before I die. Puffins and more importantly, razorbills.[singlepic id=18 w=450 h=300 float=center]
The latter, has been personal favorite bird of mine since I was 8 years old when I first saw a picture of it in an ornithology book. I still remember that I made my first charcolar drawing of a razorbill, and had to explain the teacher was the bird was, because she didn’t know it (not that it looked like a scribble, it was really a nice piece of work :)).[singlepic id=20 w=300 h=450 float=center]
Razorbill, only 800mm lense used
We had to ride for hours, because west part of Iceland is full of mountains and the time to go somewhere with a car is many, many hours longer than with plain. But it totally was worth it. Unfortunately I didn’t see many razorbills because they were way down of the cliff, which had something like 60+m straight drop to the sea. But still I got some.
The puffins had invaded the topside of the cliff, and the borders were full of holes made by them, which made it even more dangerous to go to the edge. But still I went.
Here’s something I captured, more later:[nggallery id=2]
My neck hurt too badly so I’m unable to train myself, so I visited my friends who were training, with the help of my friend Timo.
It was a fun day, thanks Timo, Satu and Marja!
Before our training session, I promised to take few pictures of Paula’s dog for aussie magazine. Here’s some:
It was nice to see how Muusa’s whole appearance was changing after we changed few things with Satu’s handling. The little girl has sooo good attitude in these
Some pictures of Turbo:
Also, we tested quickly my new flash, softbox and radios:
Let the testing continue :).
I had one day off for a long time, so I decided to spend it on the road. Quick visit to Turku, and from there to Taivassalo, and from there back to Turku, and from there, a plane ride back to Taivassalo – and back to Turku.
It was a fun day, fun because I saw so many friends, and also baby animals. Oh, and did I say that I got a plane ride? That was awesome too! We used their newest addition to their fleet, 2006 Diamond (OH-DMD). Pretty cool plane, I’d say :). We wanted to surprise Jenni and fly over her farm and take few air pictures of it :).
Some pics from that day:
And something from our flight:
Exhausting but a GREAT day. Thanks Eerik, Jenni and Sonja, it was nice to see you all
